BiologyWorks was founded with the goal of helping individuals understand their health status via a simple, portable, handheld device that can be operated from the privacy of their own homes. Our patented molecular testing technology can be adapted to test for any number of different genetic molecules and we have a long-term vision of providing a multitude of testing solutions across different areas of human health.

With the advent of COVID-19 and the global pandemic, we have focused our efforts on developing one of the fastest, accurate, portable molecular diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 and giving individuals a way to share this information with others in a secure, transparent and easy manner.

Our Product and Services

BiologyWorks offers two distinct propositions:

1. A patented molecular testing device and associated Sample Collection Kits (“Product”, “Device”, or “BiologyWorks k(now)™”) that allows users to perform specific tests for the presence of genetic molecules, for example for SARS-CoV-2, and Influenza A/B. This Device can be operated stand-alone and collects no personally identifiable information and does not connect to the Internet or any other third-party device when operated in stand-alone mode (i.e. connected only to USB power). In this mode, the sole method of transmitting information from the Device to a user or to another device is via a screen on the Device that displays an encrypted QR Code which can only be read by BiologyWorks software running on a computer, mobile app, or via the BiologyWorks website. Some tests may not require any mandatory reporting requirements and in these cases, the screen may show the results of a test directly on the Device. For tests that require mandatory public health reporting (e.g. SARS-CoV-2), the Device will not show test results without first being scanned by a mobile device running BiologyWorks software. In a Point-of-Care setting, the Device may be connected to a computer running BiologyWorks software which uploads the encrypted results of tests to a centralized repository without any associated Personal Data. Test results are never stored with Personal Data and the only identifiers used are encrypted ids of cartridges and Devices.
2. Online services (via our website, mobile applications, or 3rd party partners) (“the” or “our” “Services”) that allow a user to scan a device and to read results (and to transmit any legally required information) as well as to create a user account that allows a user to securely receive their test results, securely store their information, and to generate health passes that can provide secure verified attestation of a test result to third parties. Users will be able to view/edit and modify their privacy settings and subscribe to future services which may be of interest to them.

NOTE: WHILE OUR TESTS MAY BE USED TO TEST CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS, SOME SERVICES (SUCH AS ISSUING NOTARIZED CERTIFICATES FOR TRAVEL) ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED ONLY BY ADULTS OF LEGAL AGE AND WILL REQUIRE PROOF OF IDENTITY.

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13 (OR AGE OF DATA CONSENT IN YOUR JURISDICTION) SHOULD NOT USE OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION. BIOLOGYWORKS DOES NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13 (OR AGE OF DATA CONSENT IN YOUR JURISDICTION) EXCEPT WHERE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN HAS ENTERED THIS INFORMATION AND PROVIDED THEIR CONSENT.
